The pursuit of success is often filled with contradictions. People dream of fame, fortune, and luxury, yet when it comes down to it, they often lack the discipline and dedication to put in the work to achieve those things. Success requires sacrifice, discipline and a willingness to do what it takes to achieve your goals, even when it's uncomfortable.
One of the biggest contradictions of massive success is when people go to their moms, dads, brothers, sisters, boyfriends, girlfriends and say, "Listen, one day the world's gonna know who I am. One day I will have a Ferrari, a Lambo, a Rolls, a Bentley, a big house, cars, and a backyard with a big swimming pool and an elevator. I'm gonna throw the biggest parties and I'm gonna be a millionaire one day." Yet, instead of staying at the office on Friday night, you call your friends and go party. On weekends instead of waking up in the morning to go to the gym, you sleep in until 11 o'clock. On Sundays, you prefer to Netflix and chill, binge watch all the latest TV series instead of reading a book.
It's not about the material possessions, it's about the work and sweat equity that goes into achieving something that you can be proud of. The grind is a part of the process, and it's important to embrace it and enjoy it, not just endure it.
One of the keys to success is consistency. Successful people are disciplined and show up every day, no matter what life throws at them. They know that greatness is on the other side of doing things they hate, and they push through the discomfort to get there. They understand that failure is a part of the process, and they keep grinding, day after day.
The reality is very simple. Those who win big do four things right: they sleep, sweat, grind, and repeat. Running at one o'clock in the morning, know one thing, only you can take yourself where you want to be. Every single day when you wake up, you have two options. You can look at the clock and hit the snooze. You can look at that clock and go back to bed and dream about what you want to have. Or, you can look at that clock, kick that clock and get up and go pursue your dreams and get what you want to have.
You need to walk through the mud in life if you ever want to get to the higher ground. The higher ground is where you look in the mirror and you have respect that you went through the work, the sweat, and the result of it is something you can think of and give yourself a pat on your back saying well done you did it, something that you can remember and be proud of every time it comes to your mind. That means something, you're not speaking hollow words. Lions don't sit back, lions don't quit, lions follow their prey and they hunt them down. That's what lions do. . That's the mentality that makes a difference either you are the one who eats or the one who gets eaten.
You have to be willing to work in places people don't see. While the other guy's sleeping, you should be working. While the other guy's eating, you should be working. There's some random dude out there who wants what you have. Who wants the position you are, who wants the job you have, who wants the wife that you have or the husband. There's someone out there hungry that wants everything you have. So, make that a motivation for you. Champions are not feelings driven. Champions don't get up when they want to. And if you want to be a champion, let go your feelings. Don't stop when you're tired, stop when you're done. In order to achieve success, you need to be willing to work in places that others don't see. The grind never stops, and the competition is always hungry for what you have. True champions are process-driven, not feelings-driven. They don't let their emotions dictate their actions, they push through the fatigue and discomfort, and they enjoy the climb to the top.
In order to be successful, you need to be willing to put in the work, even when no one is watching. The grind never stops, and you need to be ready to outwork your competition. Every day, you have a choice, you can hit the snooze button and go back to bed, or you can get up and chase your dreams. The decision is yours. The key is to embrace the grind, enjoy the climb, and be willing to do whatever it takes to achieve your goals.
